Infant Feeding Clinic

Infant Feeding Clinic

breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, & pumping support.

Infant feeding is often a source of stress and disruption in new motherhood - you got this, and we got you. Every feeding journey is different and you deserve support through all of it, so we created the Honey Infant Feeding Clinic.

The Honey Infant Feeding Clinic (HIFC) is outfitted with internationally board certified lactation consultants, certified lactation consultants, peer counselors and interns who provide support for breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and pumping in our clinic, in your home, or virtually. Our HIFC team is trained in The Honey Way, Honey’s internal mental health training experience, and work in collaboration with our mental health team and vice versa. We are here for pregnant mamas, new mamas, and seasoned feeding mamas in need of support along the way.

Appointment Types

  • Prenatal Breast Feeding Consult

    Prenatal Breast Feeding Consult

    90 MINUTES

A session to support you as you enter into parenthood with a clear and confident infant feeding plan that everyone will understand and respect.

You will learn how the body is set up for breastfeeding, how to assemble your support team, prenatal colostrum harvesting, hand expression, the golden hour, latching and positioning, alternative feeding methods, expectations of supply, choosing the right pump and pumping planning.

Maternal instinct is best and Honey supports all approaches to feeding. If you plan to breastfeed your baby, this is the session for you. Consultation is designed for couples - partners deeply encouraged to attend.

  • Postpartum Feeding Consult

    Postpartum Feeding Consult

    60 MINUTES

The private consultation includes a detailed history of mother and baby, a weighted feed (weight before and after feeding) a physical examination of baby's mouth and body, and a physical examination of mother's breasts. You and the Honey lactation consultant will work together as a team to define your breastfeeding goals. An assessment of your unique situation and a detailed feeding plan that addresses your's and your baby's specific needs will be provided. Education is woven throughout this consultation.

The goal of this session is for you to leave more confident than when you arrived around your feeding goals and plan. Toddlers are welcome to be present and partners are encouraged though not required to join.

  • Pumping Consult

    Pumping Consult

    60 MINUTES

This appointment covers all your pumping concerns. The Honey lactation consultant will observe a full pumping session and you will be fitted for the correct size flanges (flanges cannot be purchased at Honey at this time). You will learn how to optimize the pump you have for the best results. This consult includes education on hand expression, proper pumping techniques, pumping hacks, how to clean and sanitize pump parts, and how to safely serve and store breastmilk. At the end of this consult you will receive a pumping plan customized to your needs. During the session your baby will be weighed, as needed for a more detailed pumping plan.

  • Oral Function Assesment

    Oral Function Assesment

Is the latch painful? Is your baby popping on and off the breast? Is your baby experiencing reflux or gas?

You and your baby may benefit from an oral function assessment consultation. In this consult, your IBCLC will assess reflexes, oral range of movement, your experience of the latch, your baby’s behavior at the breast, your milk supply, and offer a specific plan of care with timelines and recommendations.

  • Bottle Refusal Consult

    Bottle Refusal Consult

It’s been a while since your baby took a bottle and now they’re refusing to do anything but latch at the breast. Did you spoil them? Is something wrong with the milk? No! As your baby gets older, their ability to express reflexes changes and their ability to understand bottle feeding changes.

This consult may be right for you if bottle feeding has become a confusing battle.
