Varsha Varghese, MA, LPC

CLINICAL THERAPIST

(she/her/honey)

shameless reality TV junkie, chai purist, loves to organize but barely maintains it

A graduate of the University of Toronto, Varsha received her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. As the daughter of immigrant parents, Varsha grew up having great pride for her South Indian and Christian identities. Growing up in a diverse community like Toronto, Varsha believes in understanding human behavior in the context of culture. Varsha has extensive experience working with issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, childhood abuse, pregnancy loss, infertility, postpartum depression, and parenting issues. Varsha also works to help clients improve their self-esteem, work through relational issues, set boundaries, and communicate effectively with loved ones. Varsha believes in a holistic approach that encompasses the whole individual, including mindfulness, physical activity, and spirituality (if requested).

Mother to her 2-year-old rainbow baby and aunty to many, Varsha has a real love for parenthood. With that love though, comes the acknowledgment of how difficult the parenthood journey can be. Juggling her roles of wife, mother, dog-mom, daughter, and sister has continued to challenge Varsha to prioritize and value herself, a message she passes on to all her clients!

In her spare time, Varsha enjoys attempting to discover her love for reading again, going on walks with her family, and recreating her mother’s South Indian recipes.
