A Michigan native, Rachel grew up in Metro Detroit and moved to West Michigan to attend Grand Valley State University. While there, Rachel earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology and then continued on to complete her Master’s in Social Work. Rachel has experience working in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) as a behavior technician, in a Crisis Program, as a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC), and as a therapist for an EAP, providing short term therapy. Rachel is passionate about working and connecting with people of all walks of life and navigating through life’s many challenges.

Rachel has experience working with issues of trauma, grief, anxiety and depression, postpartum depression and anxiety, addiction, and major life transition, as well as extensive experience working with crisis, specifically with first responders and spouses/family members of first responders. Rachel uses a client-centered approach, providing a safe space for clients to explore their authentic selves and personal truths. She also integrates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practices.

An avid reader always looking for a new recipe to cook, outside of work you can find Rachel exploring Grand Rapids, looking for a new restaurant, or at a local coffee shop or book store.
